Because hepatitis B antibodies do not provide lifelong protection, even after completing the hepatitis B vaccination series, it is important to receive booster doses at appropriate intervals to maintain immunity. Who needs booster vaccinations most? Clinical experience shows that not everyone develops detectable antibodies after the initial three-dose vaccination schedule; some individuals either fail to produce antibodies or generate antibody levels below 10 mIU/mL (where IU stands for international unit). These individuals are referred to as non-responders and account for approximately 5–10% of all vaccinated persons. If antibody levels fall between 10 and 100 mIU/mL, this is classified as a low responder. Only when antibody concentrations exceed 100 mIU/mL…

To vaccinate or not to vaccinate—this is the question: Are COVID‑19 vaccines safe for children?
Recently, COVID‑19 vaccination for children aged 3 to 11 has been gradually rolled out across the country. With the rollout comes a wave of questions from parents. More than concerns about vaccine efficacy, parents are primarily worried about whether the vaccines are safe for their children. In fact, there is no need for concern: the COVID‑19 vaccines currently administered to children in China have been proven safe. According to national guidelines, all COVID‑19 vaccines authorized for use in this age group are inactivated vaccines; other types of vaccines have not yet been approved for children in this age range. Inactivated vaccines have a history spanning more than a century.

These two pneumonia vaccines are not identical! Which one you should get depends on your situation.
In China, 2.5 million people contract pneumococcal pneumonia each year, resulting in 125,000 deaths; the majority of these cases occur among infants under one year of age and adults aged 50 and older. Children harbor pneumococcus more frequently than adults, with longer carriage periods, making them more likely to transmit the pathogen within households. Pneumococcus can cause a range of invasive infections, including meningitis, otitis media, endocarditis, and sepsis. In particular, invasive pneumococcal disease may lead to severe complications and even death. According to a study published in 2018, approximately 294,000 children under five worldwide died from pneumococcal infections.
