Abstract
“A mother’s hands weave threads, a traveler wears them; as he departs, she sews each stitch, fearing his long delay in returning. Who can say that even a blade of grass could ever repay the warmth of spring?” On the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, China celebrates the traditional Double Ninth Festival, also known as the “Elderly Day.” This occasion not only stirs nostalgia among those far from home but also inspires society at large to honor and respect the elderly and to show filial piety toward one’s parents. On this auspicious holiday, the Minhai Bio Trade Union efficiently implemented the company leadership’s directives, promoting a culture of sincerity, filial devotion, and benevolence. It organized the third “Filial Piety Across the Land, Love in Golden Autumn” Double Ninth Festival outreach event, presenting a generous gift package—comprising a four-piece bedding set and a fitness tracker—to the parents and loved ones of more than 700 employees, along with the company’s warm greetings and best wishes from Executive Director Du. The initiative actively champions the social ethos of respecting, honoring, cherishing, and assisting the elderly, thereby upholding the fine traditional virtues of the Chinese nation.
During this Chongyang Festival outreach event, Company President Du attached great importance to the initiative and, on the eve of the holiday, extended festive greetings to all employees’ parents in the form of “holiday greeting cards.” In his message, President Du emphasized that Minhai Bio’s achievements would not have been possible without the hard work and selfless dedication of its employees, nor without the understanding, support, and unwavering devotion of their families behind the scenes. Growing together with our employees and ensuring a happier life for them and their families is an essential principle of the “One Minhai, One Family” ethos. Minhai Bio will continue to care for and cherish every employee as if they were family. Employees shared that their parents were deeply touched by the cards and gifts, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the company. They also pledged: “Let’s roll up our sleeves and work hard, growing and thriving alongside the company.”
An employee’s mother personally sent a WeChat message to the union expressing her gratitude: “Since the first Chongyang Festival in 2014, she has carefully treasured every greeting card from President Du each year—she even keeps the gift boxes intact and handles the presents with great care. Every time she sees these gifts, she feels deeply warmed, truly realizing that her daughter has found a wonderful workplace, and she is all the more supportive of her career!”
Over recent years, Minhai Biotechnology has witnessed rapid growth across all its business segments, significantly enhancing its social influence and reputation. In 2018, the company demonstrated particularly strong momentum, with profits doubling compared to the same period last year. While achieving robust internal development, Minhai Biotechnology has remained committed to its core values of “people‑centricity and the pursuit of excellence,” placing great emphasis on fulfilling its social responsibilities and actively encouraging employees to engage in public‑interest initiatives.
Through this Chongyang Festival initiative to show care for parents, the company has not only enriched its corporate culture but also strengthened the bonds between the company and its employees, as well as between employees and their parents. The event allowed parents to gain a better understanding of their children’s work environment, while fostering in employees a spirit of respect for, love of, and reverence toward the elderly.
Nothing is more beautiful than the rosy glow of the setting sun—warm, gentle, and serene. The sunset is a flower that blooms late; it is a love that lingers, unfulfilled yet enduring. How much affection and devotion are transformed into that single, crimson hue of twilight. Among all virtues, filial piety comes first. Honoring our parents and cherishing our elders are time-honored traditions of the Chinese nation. We hope that Minhai Bio’s initiative this time will bring joy to every employee’s parents, and that each parent may enjoy good health, happiness, and peace. May the cherished virtue of respecting and caring for the elderly continue to be passed down, nurtured, and celebrated at Minhai!
