Abstract
On June 16, a signing ceremony was held at the headquarters of Shenzhen Kangtai Biological Products Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Kangtai Bio), the parent company of Beijing Minhai Biotechnology Co., Ltd., during which Kangtai Bio donated hepatitis B vaccines to the government of Zadoi County in Yushu Prefecture, Qinghai Province. Guests attending the event included Liu Yanhua, Secretary-General of the Qiushi Journal; Zheng Guangning, Deputy Minister of the Publicity Department of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee; Liu Shilei, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee; representatives from the Publicity Department of Nanshan District; and Xiao Donglou, Vice President of the Chinese Society of Preventive Medicine.
Influenced by a combination of factors—including geographic conditions and living and working environments—the prevalence and incidence of hepatitis B virus infection in Zadoi County remain relatively high. This not only jeopardizes the physical health of the Tibetan people on the plateau but also hinders progress in poverty alleviation and wealth creation, with cases of poverty caused by illness occurring from time to time. Upon learning about the actual state of immunization efforts in Zadoi County, Kangtai Biological dispatched dedicated teams for multiple field assessments, ultimately building a bridge that connects the hearts and bonds of people across Beijing, Shenzhen, and Qinghai.
This time, Kangtai Biological donated hepatitis B vaccines and a refrigerated vaccine transport vehicle, with a total donation value of RMB 2.7 million. In collaboration with Zadoi County, Kangtai Biological has developed the “Implementation Plan for Supplementary Hepatitis B Vaccination among Priority Groups.” The 75,000 doses of hepatitis B vaccine donated will provide comprehensive coverage to local children aged 3 to 15 and adults aged 16 to 45 who are designated as priority recipients, thereby safeguarding the health of tens of thousands of Tibetan residents in the area. Additionally, a specially donated Iveco refrigerated vehicle will help Zadoi County further strengthen its cold-chain logistics system for vaccines, ensuring their safe transportation and storage.
As an outstanding enterprise whose mission is “to create the best vaccines and benefit human health,” Chairman Du Weimin stated that Kangtai Biological must earnestly respond to General Secretary Xi Jinping’s directives on poverty alleviation, ensuring that no ethnic group is left behind and no impoverished region is neglected in the pursuit of moderate prosperity for all. With a broader vision and a stronger sense of responsibility, the company will dedicate its care and efforts to safeguarding the health of the Tibetan people on the plateau and advancing the vaccine industry, thereby demonstrating through concrete actions its sincere commitment to the people of the plateau and its heartfelt concern for our Tibetan compatriots.
