Abstract

On May 18, 2023, a delegation of experts—including Sergey Vasilyevich Komissarenko, former Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Ukraine’s leading immunology expert (and Chair of the Biosecurity Subcommittee of the National Security and Defense Council), recipient of China’s Friendship Award, and Director of the Department of Medical Biology at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine—visited our company for an inspection, exchange, and guidance. Zhang Qian, General Manager of the International Business Division, along with other company leaders, hosted the delegation, and relevant personnel from the International Business Division attended the meeting. On May 18, 2023, a delegation of experts—including Serhiy Vasyliovych Komysarionko, former Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Ukraine’s leading immunology expert (and Chair of the Biosecurity Subcommittee of the National Security and Defense Council), recipient of the Chinese Friendship Award, and Director of the Department of Medical Biology at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine—visited our company for an inspection, exchange, and guidance session. Zhang Qian, General Manager of the International Business Division, along with other company leaders, accompanied the delegation, and relevant personnel from the International Business Division attended the meeting.

Zhang Qian briefed Academician Sergei and his delegation on Kangtai (Minhai)’s development history, its manufacturing facilities, product portfolio, R&D and sales operations, and international market expansion. He stated that Kangtai has consistently focused on the research, development, production, and commercialization of vaccines. Several of Kangtai’s products have been included in major national projects, including the 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine, inactivated poliovirus vaccine, and a quadrivalent combination vaccine. Currently, Kangtai is intensifying its efforts to expand into overseas markets, with the hope of collaborating with Ukraine’s Ministry of Health across multiple dimensions to penetrate Ukraine’s routine immunization market and contribute to global public health.

Academician Sergei outlined his work in Ukraine’s biotechnology sector and his research in the mRNA and CHO‑cell platforms, expressing readiness to strengthen collaboration with CanSino on the development of mRNA vaccines and CHO‑cell platforms. Following this, Academician Sergei and other experts visited Minhai Biologics’ state-of-the-art, internationally‑oriented vaccine industrial base for an on-site inspection and took a commemorative group photo.
