Abstract

General Secretary Xi Jinping, in issuing important instructions on curbing food waste, pointed out that the phenomenon of food waste is shocking and deeply distressing. He emphasized the need to strengthen legislation, enhance oversight, adopt effective measures, and establish long-term mechanisms to resolutely put an end to food waste. Furthermore, he called for intensified public education and awareness-raising efforts to firmly cultivate habits of thrift and foster a societal climate in which wastefulness is shameful and frugality is honorable. Beijing Minhai Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Minhai Company”) promptly responded, rigorously implemented these directives, and launched a comprehensive campaign to staunchly curb food waste, issuing to all employees the “Initiative to Curb Food Waste and Cultivate Frugal Habits.”

(hereinafter referred to as “Minhai Company”) responded promptly and resolutely implemented the relevant measures, launching a comprehensive campaign to firmly curb food waste in the catering sector. The company issued a “Call to Action on Curbing Food Waste and Cultivating Frugal Habits” to all employees. The General Office promptly formulated an action plan and established a supervisory shift schedule for curbing food waste, with department heads leading teams. Through effective measures, the company is advancing food‑saving initiatives, fostering positive habits of cherishing grain, practicing thrift, and rejecting waste, thereby resolutely eliminating food waste in the catering industry.

First, strengthen publicity, education, and guidance by posting slogans and placing reminder signs to foster a dining culture that rejects food waste and promotes frugality.

Second, all employees are urged to strengthen their awareness of mindful dining, take only what they need, and ensure that their seats are left clean and their plates are empty when they depart.

Third, strictly implement Minhai Company’s “Notice on Conducting Supervision and Inspection of Food Waste,” incorporating measures to eliminate food waste into routine supervisory and inspection activities, and effectively fostering employees’ habits of mindful and frugal dining.

Fourth, canteen departments are encouraged to strengthen refined management, implement prudent procurement, reduce waste, and cut costs.
