Abstract
The widespread use of the hepatitis B vaccine has significantly reduced the incidence of hepatitis B in China. However, in everyday life, we often hear people around us wondering: “Why did my child’s hepatitis B antibody levels disappear after a period of time following vaccination? Could it be that they received a fake vaccine?”
Hepatitis B antibodies are not permanently effective.
To answer this question, we must first ask: “Do hepatitis B antibodies provide lifelong protection?” The answer is “No.” Before getting vaccinated, it’s advisable to consult your doctor, who can provide a scientifically sound response.
In fact, whether adults or children, at 0 1. After receiving three doses of the hepatitis B vaccine in June, more than 95% of individuals will develop sufficient antibodies within 1 to 2 months. At this point, the differences between those who have and have not received the hepatitis B vaccine become apparent.
After vaccination, our bodies produce hepatitis B surface antibodies. Over time, most of these antibodies gradually disappear; however, certain immune cells in our bodies “remember” what the hepatitis B virus looks like. We refer to these cells as memory immune cells. When the hepatitis B virus re-enters our body, these memory immune cells rapidly proliferate and promptly generate more hepatitis B surface antibodies to neutralize the virus. Booster vaccinations should not be overlooked.
