Abstract

On August 11, 2022, a delegation of leaders—including Inspector Pan Aiqun and Director Zhou Xia from the Biological Products Division of the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Invention Examination Department of the National Intellectual Property Administration—paid a visit to Minhai Bio to conduct on-site research and provide guidance. Deputy General Manager Mr. Huang received the visiting delegation. In the morning, a symposium titled “Vaccine Technology Innovation and Patent Work” was held in the company’s First Conference Room. Attending the meeting were Mr. Huang, Mr. Sun, all members of the Public Affairs and Research Management Departments, as well as project leaders and key researchers from the R&D Center. During the session, participants discussed issues arising in the patent application and examination processes related to technologies such as mRNA vaccines, multivalent combination vaccines, and novel adjuvants.

Attending were General Manager Huang, General Manager Sun, all members of the Public Affairs and Research Management Department, as well as project leaders and key research personnel from the R&D Center. During the meeting, participants engaged in lively discussions and exchanges regarding challenges encountered in the patent application and examination processes for technologies such as mRNA vaccines, multivalent combination vaccines, and novel adjuvants. Leaders from the Biologics Division provided in-depth analysis and detailed guidance on the practical issues the company faces in its patent‑filing efforts.

In the afternoon, accompanied by General Manager Nie, the leaders of the Biologics Division visited the production facilities for inactivated poliovirus vaccine and pertussis component vaccine.

 

      During this fact-finding mission, the leadership of the Biologics Division fully commended Minhai Bio’s achievements in vaccine technology innovation and intellectual property protection, while offering valuable guidance that has played a constructive role in advancing the company’s innovative development and enhancing its capacity to leverage and safeguard intellectual property.

Recently, Beijing held a grand commendation conference for the “Two Excellences and One Pioneer” initiative in emerging sectors. The “Two New” Working Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee recognized outstanding Communist Party members, exemplary Party affairs workers, and advanced primary-level Party organizations across the city’s emerging fields.
