Abstract

On June 21, 2019, a delegation including Roland Walter Sutter, Coordinator of the World Health Organization’s Polio Eradication Office; Carolyn Sein, Technical Officer at the same office; Mark Steven Oberste, Head of the Polio Laboratory at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; and Zuo Shuyan, a senior WHO official in China, paid a visit to Minhai. General Manager Zheng Haifa and several other mid‑level and senior executives extended a warm welcome to the WHO delegation.

  On June 21, 2019, a delegation led by Roland Walter Sutter, Coordinator of the World Health Organization’s Polio Eradication Office; Carolyn Sein, Technical Officer at the same office; Mark Steven Oberste, Head of the Polio Laboratory at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; and Zuo Shuyan, a senior WHO official in China, paid a visit to Minhai. General Manager Zheng Haifa and several other mid‑level and senior executives extended a warm welcome to the WHO delegation.

  During the meeting, the visiting experts gained a thorough understanding of the company’s current sIPV project progress, covering the overall project timeline, process‑optimization milestones, clinical development, facility construction, and progress toward product quality (PQ) and Good Automated Manufacturing Practice (GAMP III) compliance. Subsequently, the experts toured the sIPV production facility and commended its manufacturing capacity and biosafety‑focused design.

 

 

  The visiting experts expressed their approval of Minhai Biologics’ sIPV project and encouraged the company to accelerate the clinical development, regulatory registration, and WHO prequalification processes for sIPV, with the aim of bringing it to market in China as soon as possible and, following WHO prequalification, supplying it to organizations such as UNICEF.

Recently, Beijing held a grand commendation conference for the “Two Excellences and One Pioneer” initiative in emerging sectors. The “Two New” Working Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee recognized outstanding Communist Party members, exemplary Party affairs workers, and advanced primary-level Party organizations across the city’s emerging fields.
